Why We Love Essential Oils Part 2: Max’s Mix

Wednesday, May 10, 2017

Hey there! Happy Wednesday! Hope your week is going great! I’m back with Part 2 of this series on oils! If you missed Part 1, be sure to read about my littlest guy’s favorite oils for his seasonal “snork”…I know lots of us can use that right now with all the blooms and pollen in the air! Today I’m going to share one of my older son’s favorites!

Max is my big kid. He’s calm, quiet, caring, artistic and really funny in his own quiet way. He sincerely  cares a lot what other people think about him, and wants to please everyone around him. His rambunctious little brother drives him absolutely bonkers most days, but he still wants to be his best friend and help him learn new things.

Being a teacher I’ve noticed that with these extra big-hearted kids, also comes a heaping helping of  daily worries. My kiddo struggles with this big time. Being a third grader this year, he had to the “the BIG test” (a standardized test that kids, parents, and teachers alike just loathe). The  night before testing began, he just cried and cried. Through his tears, though, he asked me to get is roller bottle of oils. I’m not kidding when I tell you we applied it, gave huge hugs and a pep talk, and he went right to sleep. The next morning he applied his oil again as soon as he woke up and was happy-go-lucky on his way out the door. When I picked him up that afternoon and asked how testing was, he smiled and replied, “Oh my gosh, Mom! It was really easy! Pretty sure I didn’t miss ANY!” Music to mama’s ears!

What is this magical oil, you ask? It’s a blend of several oils (most of which come in your Young Living starter kit)! Remember: I’m a teacher, not a doctor so be sure that this doesn’t take any advice of your medical professional!

Max’s Worry Away

6 drops Young Living clary sage essential oil

4 drops Young Living lemon essential oil

4 drops Young Living peppermint essential oil

4 drops Young Living lavender essential oil blend

I combine these in a roller ball bottle with fractionated coconut oil and have Max apply to his wrists. Even just smelling it helps a lot if there’s no time to apply. The scent reaches nerve endings within seconds and the benefits can begin right away! Always be sure to try on a small area of skin first when applying topically.

This blend has seriously helped my big kid so much! I hope you’ll give it a try for the “worrier” in y our life and let me know what you think! 🙂 Also, if you’d like to learn more about the basics of Young Living essential oils and are local, contact me! I will be joining my upline (and best friend) for several “Oil 101” classes over the next few months and would love to see you! Hope you enjoy the rest of  your week! Warm weather and sunshine are in the forecast; and so is Part 3 of this series…Mr. Pennington’s favorites! Check back soon for that!

XoXo

I have seen more and more people using oils, I don’t think I had realized until more recently what all you could do with them. Great info. I’m going to have to see if my friends have everything needed for Max’s mix!
