Why We Love Essential Oils Part 3: Mister’s FavoriteLike1 Like this post and show us s'more love!

Hi guys! I’m alive and well, in case you were concerned! I’ve been MIA all week. I returned back to teaching this week after a month long sick leave. That combined with two busy kids’ schedules had me too exhausted to do anything at the end of the day. So the blog was neglected, but I’m back. 🙂 I’m posting Part 3 of my essential oils series today–Mr. Pennington’s favorite!

Let me start by saying that Mr. Pennington is probably a lot like you–a little skeptical, but a little curious when it comes to essential oils. He totally supports my involvement in using and distributing Young Living products. He sees the hundred different things that I use them for on myself, the kids, and around our home, but deep down I still think he thinks it’s all some hocus pocus. What I’m getting at is this: if Young Living can make a believer out of him (even just a little), it can make a believer out of you too!

Mr. Pennington has this crazy bum knee that just does strange things out of the blue. He’s on his feet all day, does a lot of lifting and is up and down a lot. If the weather changes, he’s done for by the time he gets home some nights.  I don’t know what’s wrong with it. He doesn’t know what’s wrong with it (and is too stubborn to find out). We just know it’s ouchy and double the size of his other knee on the bad days! A couple weeks ago he had a BAD day with it. I finally just told him to sit down, shut up, and let me oil it up! I’m the boss  around here so clearly he listened. Lo and behold…I was right (as usual!) and it really helped! What did I use? Read below! And remember–I’m a teacher not a doctor so don’t replace their advice with mine!

Mr. Pennington’s Knee Grease

1/2 tablespoon of organic coconut oil (not fractionated this time–it should be used like a lotion)

3 drops Young Living Panaway Essential Oil blend

2 drops Young Living Copaiba Young Living Essential Oil

I whip this all up together and apply it to his knee as a lotion, as I mentioned. Coconut oil is pretty greasy at first, but absorbs quickly and leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized. Panaway is a great blend for situations like I mentioned above, but also is fantastic for a post workout soothing aromatic experience. The blend includes wintergreen, clove, helichrysum, and peppermint oils. Copaiba is derived from the Brazilian Copaiba tree and is intended to promote wellness. Both of these oils actually come in your Young Living starter kit! We found this worked best when repeated every 3 or so hours–it’s definitely not a treatment or cure, but it does work well! Even my stubborn husband says so!

Keep your eye out for the next post in this series! It’s my own favorite(s) along with a giveaway of products that I use regularly containing Young Living Essential Oils! You won’t want to miss it! Especially if you’re someone who loves soft, summer ready skin! In the meantime–let me know if you have any questions about oils and their uses to promote wellness naturally! If you want to purchase a Young Living starter kit, you can use this link to do so! Signing up in May will get you a free tangerine essential oil (I looooove citrus oils, by the way!).

I’ve never used essential oils before, so this was an interesting read for me. I love coconut oil in baking and I already use it for oil pulling, so it doesn’t surprise me that it has so many other uses!

Hey Casey! I haven’t blogged about my favorite oil yet, but it’s called DiGize. If you have a belly, it’s for you. Haha! I have a lot of intestinal issues and this truly helps me! I was very hesitant to even try it, and quite honestly was a total pessimist about it…but it really works!
